Francis Moore Ancestry Tour

This afternoon I am presenting an image of a memorial at Glasgow's Southern Necropolis. I find this absolutely fascinating. It was erected by Jeanne Moore in memory of her father, Francis Moore who fought with the Grenadier Guards at the Battle of Waterloo on June 18th 1815.
Francis died in Glasgow on June 4 1875 age 88yrs from which it follows he was borne in 1787 and would have been age 28 at the Battle of Waterloo.

- Jeanne's mother, Janet Bryson who died in Glasgow age 75 on Oct 24 1862
- Her brother, Sergeant Major John Moore (late of 11th Regiment) who died in Glasgow age 50 on Nov 6th 1875.
